You are a Giant...You Will Change The World

"You are amazing. You are unique. There has never been and never will be another you. Never before, in the history of time have all the circumstances necessary for your arrival come together in the exact right way. You are your own mysterious constellation of stars and planets. Like a snowflake or a fingerprint, you are one of a king.

You have a special contribution to make to the world. And only you can do it. You are incredible. Your thoughts, your feelings, your actions are singular and exceptional. The world has been waiting for you. Do not be afraid to come alive. Do not walk in shoes that are too small for you. Play the music that you are here to play. Do not be afraid to be great. Just as you are. Right now. Do not be afraid of disappointing anyone. You are not serving yourself or others by playing small.

You are a giant and once you accept that, the world will never be the same." (Author Unknown)

I have shared this quote before but I wanted to share it one more time.  It is so powerful and I thought it would make for an excellent discussion.  What are your thoughts and opinions about it?

  1. True on all counts, but even a giant can be crushed with the two C's. Constant critisism.
    What do you think?

  2. Very interesting. Constant critism really can crush a giant, but I think only if you let it. I think the whole second paragraph is how you combat the two C's but often they are so overwhelming we forget our importance.

What does everyone else think? Can the two C's crush even a giant?

  3. The two C's can crush the giant only if the giant allows himself to be crushed. I really love this post. I have never seen this quote before...

  4. Life is not that easy. Nothing in this world can crush you more than a parent or a partner, someone who is supposed to be there for you but is not. No injury, no financial failure, not even a serious sickness. That is how the giant is crushed.

  5. @Sherry glad you like it. It is a really powerful message

In regards to the crushing of a giant. If a giant truly believes in the words of this passage shouldn't nothing be able to crush them. THere are countless examples of parents and partners not being there for people and the person picks themselves back up again. I think that has a the potential to crush a giant, but a true giant would just get knocked down and get back up again.
    Thoughts?

  7. Although very much aware of his own futur,
maybe the giant gave up for different reasons. Been in the ring for so long, not as young anymore, don't have the fight anymore, just to name a few. Is it not possible? I firmally believe that the giant can still do good outside the ring and make the world a better place even if he or she chooses to accept his or her life as is. adl

  8. @Drachma Girl - Thanks so much for the kind word. I am sure we have lots to learn from each other. Don't forget to leave your blog address when you comment so you get backlinks ;)

@adl - I agree as someone get's older it is probably much harder to maintain this mental attitude but I still think it is vital in and out of the "ring"
Accepting ones life as it sounds a little bit like settling and contentment. How would they make a big splash in the world if they aren't doing it in their personal life? I may be misinterpreting but would love to hear everyone thoughts on this?
