This week I reflected a lot of the beginnings of my journey. I came across this quote awhile ago and thought it was so powerful.
"No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit." Helen Keller
What do you think about it? Do you agree with the message, do we have to optimistic in order to achieve greatness?

"optimism" equals hope which equals "it's possible" which equals "motivation" which then achieves "results"!
ReplyDelete"pessimism" equals "negativity" and ultimately, "feeling poorly" - which we all have the power to prevent, control, or overcome this...
"optimism" at the very least, always has a shot...whereas "pessimism" always fails...so to me, there's no choice which team to choose...
Being optimistic is an important key to sucess, whether it is for personal goals or other achievements. You must see it with your heart and soul, feel it with every fiber of your being and stay focussed. But the most important key of them all is no matter what anyone tells you, believe in yourself. adl
ReplyDeleteI agree that optimism is essential but where is the boundary of worrying about what can go wrong all the time and just going with it. Is worrying seen as pessimistic??
ReplyDeleteI personally do not see worrying the same as being pessimistic. Worrying is not always a bad thing, in fact, it is human nature, as long as it does not overpower all of your decisions to move forward. adl
ReplyDeleteBut don't you think that if someone is always worrying about all the bad that can happen their mindset will just slowly shift into a pessimistic frame of mind?
ReplyDeleteIf one is a constant worryier about everything to the point of being disabled, then I dare say maybe. There are many reasons for this behavior, including where you come from. The mind is very powerful, but you contol it.
ReplyDeleteI could go on and on, but if I only had a few words to say, then I would say this. If you are not hurting anyone and if you are not at risk of physical or emotional scares, then why worry so much about it? adl
